Data Driven Sound Sculptures

With my current research I bring the results of my Master Thesis onto a new level by adding musicality and haptic elements. It focusses on translating data and mathematical concepts into sound sculptures. Those concepts serve as both, controllers for the data and algorithms used as well as a resonance body to project the sound to space.

This work is part of an ongoing exploration.

As a challenge, I looked at movement data your smartphone creates. The kite is equipped with a motion tracking sensor passing data wireless to the synthesizer translating it into a sonic experience using machine learning training material.

The video reflects initial experiments using a Lorenz Attractor and modular synthesizers.

Listen to the audio recording of the oorevoir performance.
